Allison 501-KB5 Controls Retrofit
Holland has successfully completed the turbine control retrofit project at a DSM plant in Delft, the Netherlands.
The scope of the project included a retrofit of both the turbine control system as well as the generator protection panel for 2 Allison KB5 packages.
The project involved removing of the old 2 panels and replacement by a single system utilizing Siemens PLC's.
The panels include control for the turbine as well as protection, synchronisation and voltage control for the generator.
Installation and commissioning only took 4 weeks to complete.
Customer DSM is delighted with the success of this retrofit and pleased with the life extension, energy efficiency and optimization benefits.
